Meet Matsi Modise, entrepreneur and entrepreneurship activist. Matsi Modise is the founder of Furaha Afrika Holdings, a company with subsidiaries including Furaha Solutions, Furaha Digital and Furaha Advisory.
She is one of the founding members of SiMODiSA, an organisation that has engineered South Africa’s entrepreneurship ecosystem for high growth, high impact entrepreneurs. She leads advocacy teams, currently chairing the steering committee that is lobbying for a South African Startup Act.
She was appointed by the South African Minister of Science and Technology to be part of a review panel for the Intellectual Property (IP) Rights from Publicly Financed Research and Development Act. She is a member of the South Africa Bureau of Standards (SABS), and the South African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (SAVCA). Matsi serves on numerous company boards, locally and internationally and is a proud member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers and the Young President’s Organization (YPO). She has represented her country globally and given numerous keynote addresses and one which she is most proud of, is an address at the Oxford University Africa Business Forum in 2018.
